YouTube Video and Your PR Practice: Two Examples

Fletcher Prince on YouTubeAs you may imagine, poorly produced YouTube video can have a potential negative impact on the reputation of a public relations practice.  Given the tremendous visibility potential associated with YouTube video, it is essential to upload YouTube video for your company that is commensurate in quality with your other marketing materials and resources.  Otherwise, your firm may appear less than professional.

Most clients these days want to know more about how YouTube video can work for them, so it’s important to demonstrate that your firm has mastery of this communications medium.

Here, I’m presenting video examples of two public relations firms who are communicating messages about their practice through YouTube.

Look at this introductory video produced by the international firm, Fleishman Hillard, which has glaring production value problems (lighting, sound, camera) and a lack of cohesive, memorable message…

Compare this example with an introductory video produced by Susan Davis International, which most importantly, tells a story in an entertaining and informative way.  The superlative production values support that tactic, not overshadow it.  Anyone watching this short video would come away with a very good idea of the personality of this firm, as well as their capabilities –
